About Me:
My name is Mallory Burke. I am a student at the University of South Alabama majoring in Elementary Education. I'm a small town girl who enjoys being with family and friends. I believe two things: number one, that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior; and number two, that laughter is the best medicine. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I played school all of the time. Before my younger brothers were old enough to play, my parents were my students. I love the feeling that I get when I explain a concept to someone and they understand for the first time. It is very rewarding.
I graduated from Robertsdale High School in 2007 with an advanced diploma and a high grade point average. I took my grades very seriously all throughout high school. I was a member of the National Honor Society and Secretary of the FFA for two years.
After graduating high school, I attended Faulkner State Community College. During the time that I attended Faulkner I married my best friend, Eric Burke. We live in Gateswood, Alabama. I graduated from Faulkner in the Spring of 2009 with an Associates degree in Elementary Education. From there I transfered to the University of South Alabama, which is where I am now. I plan to graduate from there in the Fall of 2011. After recieving my Bachelor's degree from South, I plan to find a job as an Elementary School Teacher and work on getting my Master's degree.

My Philosophy on Technology in Education
I believe that technology is an important part of education. It enhances learning and opens doors. I believe that as a teacher, it will be my responsibility to get my students excited about learning. I believe that I will be able to do this through the use of technology. Like Karl Fisch, I do not believe that it is okay to be a technology illiterate teacher.Students of today know about technology. They use it everyday. That is why I think that it is important for me as a teacher to be up to date with technology. If I want to reach students I must do it through the use of technology.
